EPFL Middle East & Salzburg University collabrate to promote eGov

EPFL Middle East – Executive Education recently organized a 4-day course on the topic of Policy & Entrepreneurship in e-Governance in collaboration with the University of Salzburg Business School.  The course is designed to introduce participants to political and entrepreneurial aspects of e-Governance. The 21 participants, all of whom are senior public servants from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy/South Tyrol travelled to EPFL main campus in Lausanne to receive an overview on regulatory approaches, the effect of technology and innovation on management strategies and innovative entrepreneurship.

A multi-sector approach using technical, political and economic aspects was used in order to understand the topic plus all its factors and influences. High level experts from academia (Prof. Finger and Prof. Gruber of EPFL along with Prof. Bonardi of HEC Lausanne) and the private sector (with a contribution from young entrepreneur and co-founder of SalsaDev Nicolas Gamard) shared their experience and knowledge on the latest trends and threats. The group also took time to make site visits to the International Telecommunication Union and the World Economic Forum in Geneva.

Participants from Salzburg’s e-MBA in Public Management were taking part in the 8th of 9 modules. Their last module before graduation will take place in Washington DC, USA this December in collaboration with Georgetown University.
